Collection: Uxbridge Trails Collection

The small town of Uxbridge about an hour northeast of Toronto in Durham Region is blessed with over 300 kilometres of multi-use, non-motorized trails in a variety of protected Conservation and Regional Forest tracts just south of the urban centre.

The Green Durham Association hired Chrismar to produce a series of detailed trail maps - one Overview map of all the trail lands but also including the Town, and 3 larger-scale, waterproof topographic maps for each of 3 strips (West, Central & East) of the trail lands bounded by regional roads. These trails offer something for almost every trail user - some are level wide trails ideal for families, hand-holding couples and the elderly, others are extremely hilly (this is Oak Ridges Moraine country) for a vigorous hike with fine viewpoints, some tracts are dedicated to intricate mountain bike challenges including annual events, and horse-riders have some tracts ideally suited for them too (this is horsey country).

There is also a map of the Uxbridge Countryside Preserve, a wonderful semi-wilderness area on the very south edge of town (behind the WalMart and car dealership) which has a variety of flat and rolling trails including a hill-top viewpoint. Fall colours are especially nice here.
